The Guild Singers

Coming Together in Song

We are a professionally-led choir for soprano and alto voices, based in Milton Keynes. We come together each week to sing a wide range of music, combining high standards of performance with fun rehearsals. We also support local charities through our concerts.

ABOUT THE CHOIR

The Guild Singers is a long-established SSA choir based in Milton Keynes. We focus on part-singing and our recent repertoire has included music by Bach, Mendelssohn, Holst, Gershwin, Rutter, Chilcott, Lennon & McCartney and the Mammas & Pappas!

Visit our video page to hear us sing.

Our members are as varied as our repertoire but we come together each week for the sheer delight of singing wonderful music!

We rehearse on Monday evenings at Christ Church, Stantonbury from 7:30 to 9pm.

MEET OUR MUSICAL TEAM

The choir is led by our experienced Musical Director, Catherine Rose.

Catherine joined The Guild Singers as their Musical Director in September 2021. She studied conducting at Bristol University and Canford Summer School. She had a long association with the Bedfordshire Music Service and the Bedfordshire Music Trust, as a conductor and tutor, and continues to conduct a range of amateur orchestras and ensembles.

The choir is accompanied by our talented pianist, Helen Nightingale.

JOIN THE CHOIR

We welcome new members so please get in touch if you are interested in joining us.

There is no formal audition but you do need to be able to “hold a tune” comfortably. Catherine will arrange to meet you informally and listen to your voice in order to place you in the correct voice part. We sing from sheet music so an ability to sight-read is helpful but not essential as we always “note-bash” our pieces.

We pay termly fees to cover our costs on a “not for profit” basis.
